Indian Prime Minister Announced National Quarantine
OREANDA-NEWS. The Times of India reports that in India, a nationwide quarantine will be introduced for 21 days from March 25.
This was announced in an appeal to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the politician, at present only the actions of the state authorities will determine how effectively the spread of the COVID-19 infection can be controlled. Modi urged citizens not to leave their homes. “The only way to save ourselves from coronavirus is if we don’t leave our homes, whatever happens, we stay at home,” he said. As an example, he cited China, the United States and Italy, which, according to Modi, could not stop the spread of the disease. He pointed out that the number of people infected all over the world grew from 200 thousand to 300 thousand in just four days.
