OREANDA-NEWS. The United Kingdom in general supports the idea of ​​meeting the heads of permanent members of the UN Security Council (China, France, Great Britain, Russia, USA) for discussing international peace and security. This was announced by the British Embassy in Moscow on Telegram.

The diplomatic mission noted that the British side is in touch with the Russian government to consider further details of this proposal.

A meeting of the Big Five leaders was suggested by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Fifth World Holocaust Forum held in the end of January. Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reported that US President Donald Trump supported the initiative. The diplomat added that France and China also declared for ​​holding such a summit.
