OREANDA-NEWS. According to a survey held by British research company Kantar, German citizens trust French President Emmanuel Macron more than German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

57 % of respondents feel trust in Macron, while Merkel gained 4 % less. At the same time, 44 % said that their confidence in the Chancellor is low, while 32 % of respondents expressed such an opinion regarding the French leader.

Respondents were asked about their attitude to the leaders of seven countries of the world. The last line was shared by the presidents of the United States and Turkey, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who are trusted by 6 % of Germans. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson are in the middle of the list.
