Rahr recalled that in NATO all decisions are taken unanimously, one vote against is enough - and "there will be no Ukraine in NATO."

The political scientist said that the Baltic countries and Poland are in favor of Ukraine's admission to the alliance. “America, it seems to me, will not do this. Why provoke Putin before the meeting in Geneva? I don’t think, I’m almost sure that this will not be on the agenda. Otherwise, Ukraine would be invited as an observer to this summit (NATO in Brussels)” , - he said.

At the same time, Rahr noted that the West has the right not to admit countries such as Ukraine and Georgia to NATO, based on strategic considerations, one of which is the unwillingness to create "new conflict situations with Russia, with which we still want to normalize relations."
