OREANDA-NEWS. French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said that the government is looking for an opportunity to avoid US sanctions and maintain economic relations with Russia.

“We want to restart our economic exchanges with Moscow, complying with international law and not being constrained by extraterritorial financial sanctions, which are the first obstacle to the development of economic relations with Russia today,” Le Maire said.

In addition, the minister promised to find the necessary solution in the financial area, which will allow not only to restart relations with Russia, but also to avoid the consequences of sanctions that mean “unacceptable infringement of the sovereignty” of the state for six months.
