Foreign Affairs Calls on the USA to Abandon the Role of World Leader
OREANDA-NEWS. American magazine Foreign Affairs published material in which it criticized the political situation in the United States against the backdrop of the upcoming presidential election.
The edition’s representatives believe that Washington should not consider itself as a world leader. The American authorities should abandon this role in connection with large-scale geopolitical changes that have shown their complete failure. Foreign Affairs recalled that over the past 20 years, the United States has twice impeached presidents, unleashed a war in Iraq and caused the global financial crisis. The serious problems that arose in 2020 showed that the White House is no longer able to control the whole world.
The domestic policy results of the American government are unlikely to make the United States a benchmark for good governance. Systemic racism tarnishes America’s reputation as a defender of democracy, justice and the rule of law, Foreign Affairs notes.
