Facebook Removed Trump’s Ads due to Accusation of Using Nazi Symbols
OREANDA-NEWS. Management of the social network Facebook has removed some of political advertisements of US President Donald Trump. The reason was the suspicion that one of the symbols used in them is associated with the symbols used by the German Nazis.
This is a red upside-down triangle. The fascists used this symbol in concentration camps to denote political prisoners and communists (for example, the pink triangle was used to denote homosexuals, brown was for gypsies, the Star of David for Jews).
The red triangle was posted on pages owned by Trump and US Vice President Mike Pence, as well as in advertising and regular posts on the page Team Trump.
In response on the removal of the ads, campaign’s organizers pointed out that red triangle is also one of the symbols of the anti-fascist movement Antifa. It is widely used as an emoji, they recalled.
