Donbass Republics Responded to Statement about Bringing Ukrainian Policemen into Petrovskoye
OREANDA-NEWS. The officials of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) commented on the statement of US Chargé d’Affaires ad interim for Ukraine William Taylor who said that after the separation of troops near the town of Petrovskoye, Ukrainian police and National Guard can enter this territory.
“Such an unprofessional and negligent approach by the American representative on this issue is unacceptable,” said the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin. He noted that, according to a previously concluded agreement, no armed formations could deploy in the areas of separation of forces. “In the situation when representatives of the Ukrainian police and the National Guard appear on the separation areas, representatives of the republic’s law enforcement agencies – the Ministry of State Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs – will also be present in these territories… And the process of separation in new areas will become unrealizable,” the head of republic stated.
The head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, called Taylor’s words “a misrepresenting of the meaning of the framework decision on the separation of forces.” “No perverted interpretation and attempt to replace the essence of the framework decision by order of the West will change its content,” the politician said.
The leaders of the DPR and LPR promised that a symmetrical response would be given to the appearance of Ukrainian National Guard and police in the separation zones in the form of introducing representatives of the law enforcement agencies of both republics.
