Department of Justice of the USA has Imposed a Temporary Moratorium on the Death Penalty

OREANDA-NEWS Garland said that his department will review the protocols introduced during the administration of President Trump. However, he did not name the exact dates. In addition, a review of the changes from November 2020 will be carried out, as a result of which the list of acceptable methods of execution was expanded.
A moratorium on executions at the federal level has been in place since 2003. It was canceled in 2019 when Donald Trump held the presidency of the United States. Thirteen convicts were executed in Trump's final months in office. The last execution took place on January 13, 2021, a week before the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. Lisa Montgomery, convicted of murder, was lethally injected in Indiana federal prison.
