Seven countries in the CIS, began training in air defense, it involved up to 100 aircraft. This was reported to journalists by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.

The training involved aviation of the Armed forces of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The exercises also involve units of radio engineering and anti-aircraft missile forces, allocated to the joint air defense system. As specified in the Department, at 08: 00 GMT to work out the tasks started more than 130 command posts and control points. The training is controlled by the Russian aerospace forces (VKS).

"The training involved up to 100 fighter aircraft-SU-27, MiG-29, MiG-31, Yak — 130, bomber aircraft-SU-24, SU — 34, attack aircraft-SU — 25, long-range aviation-Tu-22, Tu-160, Tu-95, Ka — 27, Mi-8" - listed in the Ministry of defense equipment involved in the exercises.

The military will work out the actions of the duty forces against the air attack in violation of aircraft of the state borders of the CIS countries, as well as in the hijacking of aircraft. In addition, cooperation has been established in providing assistance to crews of aircraft in distress.

The training began with the detection in the Eastern European and Central Asian regions of the targets of the conventional air enemy. Russian Tu-160 and Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 serve as control targets.

In early September, the largest in the last 40 years exercises "East-2018" were held in Transbaikalia, in which, in addition to Russian troops, soldiers of the people's liberation army of China and the Mongolian army took part. About 300 thousand servicemen, 36 thousand tanks, armored personnel carriers and other vehicles, more than 1 thousand helicopters participated in the exercises on the Russian side.

"The control of the air defense forces and means involved in the exercise is carried out from the control Center of the aerospace forces stationed in the city of Moscow," the Russian Military Department concluded.
