Chinese Foreign Ministry Responded to Trump’s Demand to Sell TikTok
OREANDA-NEWS. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin commented on the demand of US President Donald Trump to sell the American division of the Chinese social network TikTok to Microsoft or another American company by September 15, otherwise the social network will stop working in the United States.
“If we follow this erroneous logic of the United States, any country can, under the pretext of protecting national security, take similar measures against any American company,” Wang Wenbin said. The politician noted that Washington “should not open Pandora’s box, otherwise they themselves will reap the bitter fruits.”
The Chinese diplomat also urged the United States to listen to the international community and the American people and not politicize economic issues, and to provide an open, non-discriminatory, free investment and business environment for companies.
