OREANDA-NEWS. The official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Defense Wu Qian accused the US military of organizing a provocation in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, Russian media TASS reports. In particular, they are talking about reconnaissance flights of aviation. According to Wu Qian, the Chinese authorities will resist such behavior of Americans.

«For some time, the United States has made a number of irresponsible statements on Taiwan, the South China Sea and reconnaissance flights of naval aviation, has undertaken a lot of provocations, in this regard, China will quite naturally show perseverance and resolutely fight this», Qian said.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense stressed that initially the relations of the US and Chinese Armed Forces were based on the principle of «preventing encroachments» on the territorial integrity of China, as well as on «it's dignity and key interests».

«This is especially true for Taiwan, China will not allow any space for compromise to appear, the American side should not have any illusions about this», concluded the representative of the Ministry of Defense of China.

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian called on Washington to stop «playing with fire». So he commented on the passage of the US Navy destroyer through the Taiwan Strait.
