China’s Ambassador to the United States Was Summoned to the State Department
OREANDA-NEWS. Chinese Ambassador to Washington Cui Tiankai was summoned to the US State Department due to a statement of an official spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lijian Zhao saying that the US military could bring the new coronavirus to the city of Wuhan. Assistant Secretary of State David Stilwell summoned the Chinese diplomat because of a “blatant, global” disinformation campaign.
Earlier, Lijian Zhao wrote on Twitter that the US Army could bring the coronavirus to Wuhan. He called on Washington to be transparent and make public its data. In such a way, he commented on the statement of the head of the US Centers for Disease Control, Robert Redfield, who reported that in the United States there were several cases when a new virus was found after death in people who allegedly died from influenza.
