OREANDA-NEWS. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau categorically rejected the offer of US President Donald Trump to invite Russia to the summit of the Group of Seven (G7) which is to be held in the United States.

According to the newspaper National Post, Trudeau recalled the exclusion of Moscow from the association after the entry of Crimea into Russia in 2014. According to the politician, Russia has remained to be a destructive force since then.

“Russia was excluded from the G7 after it invaded Crimea a number of years ago, and its continued disrespect and flaunting of international rules and norms is why it remains outside of the G7, and it will continue to remain out,” Reuters agency quoted Trudeau.

Trump announced plans to invite Russia to the summit of G7 countries in late May. In addition to Russia, as it was conceived by the US President, India, Australia and South Korea may take part in the meeting. The American leader also informed that he intends to postpone the summit at least until September of 2020.
