Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs Starts Checking Lukashenko’s Rival at Presidential Election
OREANDA-NEWS. The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the start of an inspection against Valery Tsepkalo, initiator and lead creator of Belarus Hi-Tech Park, who participates in the presidential election, being one of rivals of the current head of state Alexander Lukashenko.
As the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Olga Chemodanova said, the check is carried out at the request of a Turkish citizen. “For conducting a preliminary investigation, materials were sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the General Prosecutor’s Office on the statement of a Turkish citizen about the facts of illegal activities of V. V. Tsepkalo. An inspection is underway now,” the edition Tut.by quoted the official.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus did not clarify the essence of the application, noting that the data on the pre-investigation checks is information for limited distribution.
