Belarusian Election Commission Warned of a Risk of Riots Caused by Alternative Counting of Votes
OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Lidia Yermoshina, said that the creation of the platform Golos, the developers of which intend to conduct an alternative count of votes during the presidential elections, is a political fraud and a criminal project.
In her opinion, with the help of Golos, political opponents of the government intend to discredit the elections and start riots. “As we are attempted to be assured, this is control over the expression of will. No… this is not control. This is the creation of a distorted election result in order to devalue the official result of the vote and organize riots on this basis,” Yermoshina claimed.
She called Golos a “shadow Central Election Commission,” since no structure, except for election commissions, has the right to count votes. “It is just amazing that this platform, this harmful project, criminal project, is being advertised by a person who is a potential guarantor of the Constitution, a presidential candidate who participates in the elections. I’m talking about Mrs Tsikhanouskaya,” the head of the Commission said. She suggested that Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya do not understand all the consequences of the implementation of this project. “Or maybe she understands and acts so on purpose,” Yermoshina added.
