OREANDA-NEWS. Viktor Khrenin, Defense Minister of Belarus, claimed that “certain forces in the West” are waging a “hybrid war” against the republic after their attempt to organize a “colour revolution” failed.

“Now certain forces in the West, having failed in an attempt to organize a colour revolution, are actually switching over to the forms and methods of waging a hybrid war against the Belarusian state, applying unprecedented measures of diplomatic and political-economic pressure,” the politician said at a meeting of the defense ministers of the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Collective Security Treaty Organization held in Moscow. The Minister stressed that now there is “a fierce struggle to gain information superiority.”

“Various destructive forces, fueled by the leadership of such states as Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Ukraine, have attempted an unconstitutional change of power,” the statement published on the website of the Belarusian Defense Ministry says.
