Vladimir Putin Holds Meets with Tyumen Region Governor
OREANDA-NEWS. Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Tyumen Region Governor Vladimir Yakushev to discuss the region’s economic development in the first quarter of 2014 and its investment attraction.
The Governor reported to the President that the industrial production index in the region in the first quarter of 2014 exceeded 10 percent, that of hydrocarbon production was 118 percent, and of the refining industry – 121 percent. The region is developing a diversified economy, which includes hydrocarbon production and refining, timber processing and agriculture. Currently 287 projects are being implemented in the region worth over 1 trillion 300 million rubles [over USD 37 billion], while investment in the first quarter of 2014 continued to grow.
During the meeting, Mr Yakushev requested that the President relieve him of his duties ahead of term, so that he can take part in the gubernatorial elections to be held in Tyumen Region in September.
