OREANDA-NEWS.  On Germany’s initiative, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.

The two leaders discussed the situation that has emerged following Crimea’s reunification with Russia. Regarding the crisis in Ukraine, Mr Putin and Ms Merkel both said they were happy that a mandate has been approved for the OSCE monitoring mission that will work in Ukraine.

The two leaders reaffirmed their desire to continue the dialogue, including at the expert level.
