OREANDA-NEWS. Mr Kuyvashev briefed Vladimir Putin on the situation in the region’s industrial sectors and on the social sector development.

The Governor noted, in particular, that the gross regional product increased by 7.8 percent in 2012, and that Sverdlovsk Region came in fifth place among Russia’s regions in terms of foreign investment.

Yekaterinburg’s bid to host World Expo 2020 and preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup were also discussed at the meeting.
