OREANDA-NEWS. Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe discussed current bilateral cooperation matters and the main issues on the international agenda.

A joint declaration by the Russian President and the Japanese Prime Minister on developing the Russian-Japanese partnership was adopted.

Mr Putin and Mr Abe oversaw the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on establishing and running cultural centres, and a number of cooperation agreements in the transport and energy sectors, on exchanging financial intelligence information on money laundering and financing terrorism, and on establishing a Russian-Japanese investment platform. Also signed were documents on financing investment projects in Russia and insuring export loans and investments, a memorandum of understanding between Rosneft Oil Company and Mitsui & Co Ltd, and a memorandum of cooperation between the Amur Region government and Hokkaido Bank.

A number of bilateral documents were also signed on the sidelines of the official talks.

Mr Putin and Mr Abe made press statements and answered journalists’ questions following their talks.
