OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2012. Control over the usage of budget funds must be among priorities of the Government in 2013.

“I expect concrete proposals in that direction,” the president said at the meeting of the Council of Regions adding that the given issue would be under his personal control. The Head of State also stressed the importance of rational usage of budget costs.

“The budget for 2013 approved in December cannot satisfy anyone. Its main goal is to prevent deterioration of social protection of citizens in tough economic conditions,” the President said.

According to the President, limited budget resources should be primarily aimed at implementation of top-priority reforms and continuation of social initiatives.

“Under economic results of the first quarter, the budget should be revised,” Viktor Yanukovych added.

At the same time, the President reminded that State Budget-2013 provided for increase of social standards, particularly the living wage and minimum wage by 7.4%. “Due to limited budget resources, in order to stimulate economic development, an alternative mechanism of attracting investment funds under state guarantees - up to 50 billion UAH – will be introduced,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
