Ukraine Concerned about Launch of Missile by North Korea
OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2012. Ukraine is concerned that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, despite the warnings of the international community launched the ballistic long-range missile with a satellite on board on December 12, 2012.
This step of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea concerns Ukraine as a state that faithfully fulfills its obligations in the field of non-proliferation of nuclear materials, technologies and means of their delivery. Ukraine recalls that a number of UN Security Council Resolutions (1695, 1718, 1874) prohibits the launching missiles using ballistic technology by North Korea.
Ukraine is convinced that these actions by North Korea could lead to further aggravation of the difficult political and security situation on the Korean peninsula and in the region as a whole. We urge official Pyongyang in further refrain from such steps, go back to the relevant UNSC Resolutions and restore multilateral dialogue within the six-party talks as the best channel for unlocking problems.
