President Discusses American-Ukrainian Relations with U.S. Senator
OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2012. President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has met U.S. Senator for Illinois, Assistant Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate Richard Durbin. Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine John Tefft also took part in the meeting.
The sides have discussed topical issues of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States as well as domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine.
Viktor Yanukovych stressed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S., our strategic partner.
As Richard Durbin said at the meeting, Ukraine and the United State have "very warm relations."
"Relations between Ukraine and the United States have been increasingly close since Ukraine became free again. We would like to develop them further," Richard Durbin said.
