OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2012. Ukraine is ready providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan for the period until 2017. On May 21 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft decree of the President of Ukraine "On delivery of humanitarian assistance to the needs of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan."

The decree has been drafted in order to support by Ukraine of multinational international efforts in restoring and ensuring lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan covered by armed conflict. Armed conflict that continues in this country over 20 years has been caused severe damage to the Afghanistan economy, social and humanitarian state of the population. The need for international support to the government of this country was proclaimed during the International Conference on Afghanistan which took place in Bonn, December 2011.

It is assumed that within 2015-2017 from the Ukraine’s state budget to be allocated annually amount of equivalent to 500 thousand dollars US towards the aid of Afghanistan.
