OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2012. Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon.

Ban Ki-moon congratulated Vladimir Putin on officially taking office as President of the Russian Federation.

The UN Secretary-General gave a high assessment to Russia’s input into the UN’s work and promoting and supporting the UN’s leading role on the international arena.

Vladimir Putin confirmed Russia’s commitment to ensuring the rule of law in international affairs and strengthening multilateral approaches to regulating global problems.

Both sides expressed readiness to continue the multidimensional partnership between Russia and the United Nations and reaffirmed their interest in further personal contacts.
