President of Turkmenistan Receives Head of OSCE Center in Ashgabat
OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2012. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat Sergei Belyaev, who completes its mission in Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the representative of a largest international organization underlined that he had considered it an honour to work in Turkmenistan and observe the grandiose changes taking place in the country under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, reformer and pragmatic politician of worldwide reputation, who had steadily led the country along the way of progress and prosperity.
Thanking for the kind words, the Turkmen leader highly appreciated the diplomat’s personal contribution to the integrated development of the traditional cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE that was initially built on the principles of equality, respect and mutual interests. It was also noted that within the framework of the diplomat’s mission in Ashgabat, the important work had been done and a number of interesting joint projects had been implemented.
“Independent neutral Turkmenistan has been and remains an ardent supporter of the non-confrontational model of peace steadily pursuing the policy of peacefulness and wide international cooperation in the interest of universal safety, stability and sustainable development”, stated the Turkmen leader underlining that our country paid particular significance to the partnership with authoritative international structures and organisations, including the OSCE, cooperating with which Turkmenistan had gained wide positive experience of joint work in a number of key spheres.
“The OSCE highly appreciates and supports the peacemaking policy pursued by the Turkmen Government and important international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader in the interest of the universal wellbeing”, underlined Mr. Sergey Belyaev reaffirming the aspiration of the international organization he represented for the steadily enhancing and widening of the fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan.
Within the framework of the meeting the President of Turkmenistan and the Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat exchanged their views on the successes achieved and the prospects for further growth of the long-term constructive dialogue that gained the qualitatively new dynamics for development within the last years. The energy sector, social, economic and humanitarian spheres were defined among the priority vectors of the mutually beneficial cooperation. The Turkmen leader and his guest reaffirmed the readiness of the parties for further consolidation of the efforts in the struggle against international terrorism and transboundary crime.
It was noted during the meeting that the experience of positive cooperation accumulated within he years opened up new vectors for further cooperation, including assistance to reforming the system of jurisprudence initiated by the Turkmen leader, where a number of important laws had been drafted jointly with the OSCE experts.
In conclusion of the meeting the Turkmen leader and the Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat expressed the confidence in the further successful continuation of the dialogue between Turkmenistan and the OSCE in the context of common goals and tasks with the aim to ensure peace and security in the regional and global scale.
Once again thanking the Turkmen leader for the particular concern paid to developing cooperation and providing every kind of support and assistance to the work of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, the diplomat addressed the best wishes to the people of Turkmenistan underlining that he would leave the country with the warmest and kindest recollections about Turkmenistan and its friendly and hospitable citizens.
“I have revealed a new country that, I’m sure, has the interesting and great future”, said the guest reaffirming the readiness of the OSCE to provide comprehensive assistance to development of Turkmenistan.
