OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2011. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a regular videoconference with the khyakims of Ashgabat and velayats.

The agenda focused on the priority aspects of socio-economic development of the country, particularly the progress in implementing the rural development programmes in the regions throughout the country.

The velayat khyakims reported on the existing situation in their regions, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the preparations for the New Year celebrations. They also reported on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions on the improvement of the social and living conditions and the preparatory works for construction of a modern town and settlement in each region.

Touching upon the construction projects to be launched in new Abadan town, the Turkmen leader instructed to take all necessary measures for the commencement of construction works.

Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev reported on the existing situation in the capital city, the progress in implementing construction projects and the measures for the modernization of transport, communications and social infrastructure, beautification of the cit and organisation of the New Year celebrations.

After summing up the reports, the President wished the participants good health and every success in fulfilling the assigned tasks to promote socio-economic development of the country, improve the welfare of Turkmen citizens and focused on the importance of properly organizing and holding the New Year celebrations throughout the country.
