OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2011. Ukraine will continue its foreign policy of national pragmatism, President Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview for Evenings with Vitaliy Korotych TV program.

 "We respect our partners. But our national interests will always be at the heart of our foreign policy... We must not allow our interests to be ignored. We must work with our partners so that the basis of our relations was mutual respect," said Viktor Yanukovych.

 The President stressed the importance of making the foreign policy of Ukraine more economy-oriented, and deepening bilateral cooperation with our partners in the world. "If this policy is successful, if it focuses on economic growth, it will bring benefit to people in our country. We understand that well," he said.
