Dmitry Medvedev Sent Message to Mario Monti
OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2011. Dmitry Medvedev sent a message to Mario Monti congratulating him on being appointed Prime Minister of the Italian Republic.
The message reads, in part:
“Even in the current conditions of the global economic crisis Russian-Italian relations remain dynamic and focused on the long term.
A good indicator of this mutual rapprochement is the mechanism of expanded intergovernmental consultations, which not only regularly register the rising momentum of bilateral dialogue, but also determine the specific vectors of its further development.
I am pleased to note that almost all our joint projects are innovative in nature, involving high technology and requiring major investments. All these are signs of a true strategic partnership based on deep historical traditions of friendship and mutual understanding.
The major events held during the Year of the Russian Culture and Language in Italy and the Italian Culture and Language in Russia, which will close at the end of the year in Moscow, have contributed to further strengthening the spiritual, cultural and interpersonal contacts between our nations.”
Dmitry Medvedev wished Mario Monti success in his demanding position.
