OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2011. Dmitry Medvedev met with President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa on the sidelines of the St Petersburg Economic Forum.

The two leaders exchanged views on current international affairs and bilateral cooperation on fighting terrorism and drug trafficking.

Mr Medvedev and Mr Rajapaksa also discussed trade and economic ties and possibilities for Russian companies to take part in big infrastructure projects, build new energy facilities, and explore and develop Sri Lanka’s offshore oil and gas deposits.
