Cooperation between France, Belarus Based on Personal Contacts
OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2011. Cooperation between France and Belarus is primarily based on personal contacts, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus Michel Raineri told a press conference in Gomel on 11 April. The Ambassador took part in the opening of an exhibition by French artist Francoise Limouzy.
The Ambassador remarked that the opening of the exhibition in Gomel had resulted from fruitful cooperation between France and Belarus. The agreement to implement this cultural project was reached when top executives of Gomel Oblast of Belarus visited France a year ago. “The opening of the exhibition by the French art provides a concrete example of how we can develop bilateral cooperation on the basis of personal contacts, concrete proposals and arrangements between us,” stressed the diplomat.
“If Belarus and in particular Gomel Oblast have concrete proposals for us to develop projects in various areas, we will be able to find the foundation for their implementation,” said Michel Raineri.
The Ambassador said he was convinced that the development of ties between twinned cities of France and Belarus will also contribute to the enhancement of cooperation between the countries. For instance, such ties are maintained between Gomel and Clermont-Ferrand.
