Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, met George Saitoti, acting Minister of Foreign Affaires of Kenya, who paid a short working visit to Russia. A few urgent issues of bilateral cooperation and Russian-Kenyan cooperation in the international arena were discussed.

On the same day, George Saitoti held negotiations with Alexander Saltanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Practical aspects of Russian-Kenyan partnership with an emphasis on enhancing effectiveness of trade and economic relations were examined in detail. The developments in the troubled areas of Africa, including the crisis in the Northern Africa, particularly in Libya, were also thoroughly discussed.
