OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2011. Turkmenistan-Turkey political consultations on consular issues were conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. A high-level delegation of the Republic of Turkey led by Director General for Consular Issues of the MFA of Turkey Shakir Fakyly had arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the consultations.

The during the talks held in a businesslike an constructive atmosphere emphasis was put on high dynamics of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey bound with the centuries-old ties of friendship, cultural affinities and traditions of the brotherly nations.

It was emphasized that a powerful impetus to expand further Turkmen-Turkish cooperation and bring it to a qualitatively new level had been given during the top level meetings between President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Abdullah Gul. In particular, the two leaders had agreed that the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Turkey would conduct bilateral consultations on a regular basis as one of the most effective mechanisms for facilitating the political dialogue.

In this regard, the meeting participants evaluated highly intensification and fruitfulness of Turkmen-Turkish relations in the trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres that testified to the politically and economically balanced model of bilateral constructive cooperation.

During the visit to Ashgabat the delegation of the Republic of Turkey visited landmarks of the Turkmen capital.
