Ukraine Interested in Developing Legal Base of Cooperation with Japan
OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2011. During the meeting with Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kan, President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine is interested in expanding and optimizing the legal base of Ukrainian-Japanese bilateral relations.
The sides have also discussed intensification of investment and trade-economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the introduction of effective mechanism of cooperation, which would strongly promote investment in Ukraine.
According to Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine is very interested in Japan’s practical experience of organizing the taxation system.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Ukrainian people to Japan for continued assistance in fighting the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident, President Yanukovych informed Prime Minister Kan on the Chornobyl Disaster 25th Anniversary International Conference to be held under the UN auspices in Kiev in April 2011.
"I sincerely hope that Japan will actively participate in the conference and support the international Chornobyl projects" - Viktor Yanukovych.
