OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2011. Protests, which took place in 2010, showed the democratic development of Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a meeting with the Member of the European Commission for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule.

"Protests, which took place in the country, are the best illustration that those who disagree have the opportunity to express their position, and the authority does not prevent this. Necessary but difficult reforms, including tariff increases for gas, electricity, of course, they have not added popularity to the authority, and were allowing the opposition to increase its ranking, but this did not happen. The opposition could not offer constructive alternative to the society, new ideas, that is why their actions were not noticeably supported by the citizens" - Mykola Azarov emphasized.
