Turkmenistan and Romania Enhance Dialogue
OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2010. A meeting with Mr. Anton Caragea, Director of the Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania, who had participated in the International Conference on Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan: Cooperation for Peace, Security and Progress in Ashgabat, was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
As is known, during the forum Mr. Anton Caragea presented President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the diploma of the title of honour of “The Man of the Year” awarded to the Turkmen leader in accordance with the decision of the Executive Committee of the Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of the Academy of Sciences of Romania.
During a meeting at the Mejlis the guest was briefed on the priorities of policy of the Turkmen state and large-scale economic and social programmes and projects implemented on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. A focus of the conversation was the activity of the national Parliament and its role in ongoing democratic reforms.
Mr. Anton Caragea was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, where the ways to enhance fruitful Turkmen-Romanian cooperation were considered. Focusing on the high dynamics of relations established between Turkmenistan and Romania in recent years, the participants expressed belief that the intergovernmental dialogue built on a long-term, mutually beneficial basis would be successfully developed further.
During the visit the guest attended the celebrations in honour of the 15th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan.
