Lukashenko: Belarusians Will Have Peaceful Life on Their Land
OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2010. Belarusians will have a peaceful and secure life on the their land, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the final gala-concert We are Belarus in the Football Arena in Minsk on 11 December.
The head of state thanked for the invitation to attend the concert. He noted he came to congratulate the youth on the final of this wonderful public and cultural action prepared by the Belarusian figures of art, television and reporters.
The president stressed: “I guarantee you and your families normal life here. A great achievement of any state is the confidence of its people in a secure and peaceful life on their land, an opportunity to study, work and live in safety. I promise you that – work and peaceful life”.
The final gala-concert was attended by well-known Belarusian and foreign singers, nearly 5,000 students of the Minsk and regional universities.
The President of Belarus held informal talks with the students and artists.
We are Belarus action was conducted from February to December this year. Its major objective was to unite residents of all the regions and representatives of all the categories of the Belarusian society, to promote common values such as love of the country, pride of one’s homeland and culture.
This large-scale action included nearly 100 concerts of the leading Belarusian cultural teams and singers in large and small towns, urban communities and agro-towns of the country. Its program also embraced tours of the popular music bands and singers across the country.
All in all, over 500 artists partook in the concerts which were attended by more than 15,000 people.
The event demonstrated the country’s achievements in the professional and amateur art.
