OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2010. A delegation led by Ahmed Korkut Tuna, Dean of Istanbul University of the Republic of Turkey is on a visit in the Turkmen capital.

The representatives of the leading and oldest institution of higher education of the friendly country were received at the Turkmen State Medical University and Magtymguly Turkmen State University. During the meetings, which turned into a lively exchange of views on the current state and prospects for traditionally mutually advantageous Turkmen-Turkish cooperation with the humanitarian spheres as one of its priority fields, the guests were briefed on the major aspects of the education reform launched on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Expressing the willingness to expand business and humanitarian contacts and deepen traditional cultural ties, the representatives of the institutions of higher education of the two brotherly countries, focused on mutual interest in intensifying mutually advantageous cooperation, which had accumulated the experience of effective collaboration.

During the visit to Ashgabat the guests from the Republic of Turkey participated in the celebration sin honour of the 19th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
