OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2010.  A telephone conversation took place on October 11 between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and NATO Secretary General and Chairman of the Russia-NATO Council Anders Fogh Rasmussen at his initiative.

Rasmussen was interested in a response to the invitation to hold a RNC summit on November 20 in Lisbon. For his part, Lavrov said that the proposal was being considered most carefully. He noted the importance of thoroughly preparing for a possible summit, both in terms of the prospects for practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest and with regard to the fundamental principles of equitable collaboration enshrined in the Russia-NATO Rome Declaration of May 28, 2002.
