OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2010. A meeting of the World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots will be held in the UK on Sept. 9-10 to review preparations for an international conference slated for early October in Moscow dedicated to the contribution of compatriots’ organizations to the modernization of Russia.

The meeting will discuss the progress that has been made in carrying out a set of events and activities arranged by compatriots’ organizations to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

It is assumed that, during the meeting, the members of the Council will also acquaint themselves with the experience of the work of the organizations of compatriots living in the UK in preserving the Russian language, ethnocultural identity and strengthening links with the historical Homeland.
