OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2010. Dmitry Medvedev thanked his Ukrainian counterpart for Ukraine’s assistance in fighting fires in Russia.

Mr Medvedev noted that the situation is gradually improving now and said that Russia would be ready to help fight fires in Ukraine if necessary.

The two presidents discussed possibilities for cooperation in disaster prevention and agreed to give the necessary instructions to their respective Emergency Situations Ministries.

Upcoming top-level bilateral contacts and a number of topical trade and economic cooperation issues were also discussed.
