OREANDA-NEWS. August 6, 2010.  Daghestan’s President briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the situation in the republic’s mountainous districts, where several settlements have suffered following serious fires in the area.

Mr Magomedov reported on the efforts underway to bring the fires under control and help those affected.

Mr Medvedev instructed the Russian Government to allocate funds for compensating Daghestan residents left homeless by the fires.
