Dmitry Medvedev believes that Alexander Zhukov, who was elected to the helm of the Russian Olympic Committee, can streamline the operations of the committee by involving professionals and effective managers. Sports in Russia should be made modern, competitive, and attractive, and preparation for the Olympic Games in London and Sochi should be adequate, President Medvedev said.

At the meeting he also announced the signing of the Federal Law amending the law on physical culture and sports by introducing stricter anti-doping measures.
