Russia and Denmark Conducts Official Talks
OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2010. The talks focused primarily on developing trade and economic ties, expanding the legal base for the two countries’ relations, and bilateral and international cooperation in the Arctic.
Dmitry Medvedev and Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen met first in narrow format and were later joined by their respective delegations.
Mr Medvedev noted that Russian-Danish relations have made considerable progress of late.
The President praised highly the Danish Prime Minister’s personal contribution to organising and hosting the International Climate Change Conference that took place in Copenhagen.
Mr Rasmussen noted that Russian-Danish relations have grown stronger in all different fields over these last years and said he hoped that the Russian President’s visit would help to broaden and deepen the two countries’ mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Danish Prime Minister also expressed his condolences over the terrorist attacks in the Moscow metro on March 29, 2010.
Following their talks, the two leaders signed the Partnership for Modernisation declaration and oversaw the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Rasmussen concluded their consultations by making press statements and answering journalists’ questions.
