OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2010. President Ilham Aliyev received  the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu on Wednesday.

The President congratulated Cavusoglu on his election as the President of PACE. He expressed hope that PACE would successfully continue its work during Cavusoglu`s tenure. The President praised the fact that Azerbaijan is one of the first countries Cavusoglu chose to visit. The President said he believes that the trip would contribute to expansion of PACE-Azerbaijan relationship.

Mevlut Cavusoglu thanked President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan`s support to his candidacy. The PACE President emphasized that he had successfully cooperated with the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation during several years.

President Ilham Aliyev and Mr. Cavusoglu also exchanged views on the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-PACE cooperation.
