Dmitry Medvedev Spoke with US President Barack Obama
OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2010. Barack Obama called Dmitry Medvedev to personally convey his sympathy and support in relation to the outrageous terrorist acts that hit Russia's capital. Earlier, on his return from Afghanistan, the US President sent written condolences to the President of Russia.
Barack Obama said that he would like the people of Russia to know that the American people fully support Russia in its fight against terrorism and are ready to do everything in their power to defeat this evil and punish the guilty.
Expressing his appreciation for the sincere condolences, the President of Russia stressed that the fight against terrorism is one of the most useful areas of cooperation between Russia and the United States. "We must work together," said Dmitry Medvedev, "and cooperate to ensure that the terrorist threat does not take over the entire planet."
The two presidents reaffirmed their intention to discuss this and other pressing issues on the Russian-American agenda at their upcoming meeting in Prague to sign the new strategic arms reduction treaty.
