President of Turkmenistan Receives Top Managers of Japanese Companies
OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Toshikazu Hayashi, President and CEO of Kawasaki Plant Systems LTD and Yasuyuki Fujishima, Executive Vice President of Sojitz Corporation.
Expressing gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting the businessmen underscored the keen interest of many Japanese companies in cooperation with Turkmenistan. As noted by Mr. Toshikazu Hayashi and Mr. Yasuyuki Fujishima noted that the new incentives to develop Turkmen-Japanese partnership had been given during the official visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan last December, which had resulted in reaching a number of the important agreements. The guests said that the conditions conducive to maintaining mutually advantageous business contacts and implementing joint projects in various fields had been created in Turkmenistan through the Turkmen leader’s efforts.
Reaffirming Turkmenistan’s steadfast commitment to the policy of constructive international cooperation in mutual interests, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with an opportunity to meet with the representatives of Japan’s business community and continue to discuss in detail the very promising fields of collaboration. The Turkmen leader said that advanced technologies and profound expertise offered by the leading Japanese companies could be in great demand Turkmenistan where the comprehensive programmes of modernization and development of all sectors of the national economy had been launched.
The President and his guests discussed the current issues of partnership relating in particular to the implementation of the bilateral framework agreements signed last winter in Tokyo upon the results of the 8th joint meetings of the Turkmen-Japanese and the Japanese-Turkmen committees for economic cooperation. In particular, the top managers of Kawasaki Plant Systems LTD and Sojitz Corporation briefed the Turkmen leader on the progress of construction of the carbamide plant in Mary including the design of the facility and procurement of equipment.
The sides exchanged views on the other joint projects and the possibilities of investment for the Japanese partners. In this regard Mr. Yasuyuki Fujishima said the Sojitz Corporation, which had more than 80 offices worldwide, was going to open the office in Ashgabat that illustrated the company’s intention to develop cooperation with Turkmenistan on a long-term basis.
Welcoming the Japanese companies’ readiness for active cooperation President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the existing vast opportunities to diversify business partnership, the potential of which allowed building the large-scale plans for the future.
Thanking the Turkmen leader for paying attention to the issues of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation, the businessmen assured that Kawasaki Plant Systems LTD and Sojitz Corporation stood ready to offer Turkmen partners their expertise and innovations.
In conclusion the Turkmen President and the heads of the Japanese companies expressed belief that bilateral cooperation based on the long-term and mutual benefit would be successfully developed.
