OREANDA-NEWS. March 02, 2010. Further development of the constructive Turkmen-American dialogue was a focus of the agenda of the meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the framework of the visit of the delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Limbert to Ashgabat.

Expressing satisfaction with the dynamics of intergovernmental relationships based on mutual respect and equality, the participants exchanged views on the ways to intensify effective collaboration in a number of the priority fields. The sides discussed the particular issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest. The commitment of the two countries to partnership to achieve global peace, security and stability was reaffirmed in this context. The head of the U.S. delegation emphasized that the U.S. Government welcomed Turkmenistan’s international initiatives and constructive foreign policy strategy, which had won it the high prestige on the world arena.

During the visit of the U.S. delegation had a meeting at Magtumguly Turkmen State University.
