OREANDA-NEWS. February 26, 2010. The conversation was a continuation of the regular communication between the two leaders who discussed current issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

A particular subject of discussion was organisation of various events in honour of the 65th anniversary of the victory over Nazism. The celebrations will take place in Moscow and will be attended by a number of foreign leaders.

The President and the Chancellor also exchanged views on their cooperation in international matters such as progress in the Middle East settlement, Iran’s nuclear programme, and global climate change among others.

Mr Medvedev and Ms Merkel also explored prospects for expanding bilateral and multilateral contacts.
